My Journey
2011 - 2012: Khai Hoan Land _ Real Estate Agent
During this period, I took a gap year and began working in the advertising sector in HCMC's real estate industry. Throughout this year, I acquired extensive marketing and sales skills knowledge and gained insights into the preferences and concerns of foreigners working in Vietnam.
2012 - 2015: Khai Hoan Land _ Assistant of Sales Manager
After working as an agent for a year, I spent four years of my college time as an Assistant to the Sales Manager at Khai Hoan Land. During this time, my manager mentored me on applying my university knowledge to the real world and honing my ability to serve and sell to diverse customer demographics. I familiarized myself with concepts such as SEO and multi-platform sales during this period.
2014 - 2015: Ohay TV _ Journalist Freelancer
During this time, I pursued my love for writing and improved my skills in data collection and analysis for each article. Some of my articles on Japanese culture received approximately 5000 views.
2015 - 2016: Open Tour / My Home Hostel _ Admin & Editor
Because of my research topic for my undergraduate thesis on "Marketing Promotion Methods for Stem Cell Therapy in Vạn Hạnh Hospital," I couldn't work for other companies. However, I worked as a freelance marketer for two different companies. At Open Tour, I worked as an Editor, writing articles and managing SEO for the company's content. I also worked as an Admin for an Airbnb hostel, helping with property management on popular rental platforms like Airbnb, Booking, and Agoda.
2019 - 2020: 3D DECOR _ Marketing Analist
After studying in the USA for 3 years, I returned to Vietnam and started working as a Marketing Analyst at an architecture company 3D DECOR. My role involved supporting the Marketing/Sales team in developing marketing strategies and analyzing data every week to improve business decisions. I also helped promote the company's image in two new markets: foreign customers in Vietnam and provincial markets. Through my efforts, the company's LinkedIn page gained around 4,000 organic followers within a year, with consistent engagement. Additionally, our subsidiary company, Trần Gia Furni, achieved significant growth in its first year operating in the provincial market of VÅ©ng Tàu.
2020 - 2021: DORATRADE _ Co-founder
This was a time when I pursued something I had loved since I was a child. My co-founders and I attempted to launch a new platform exclusively for Review Videos, connecting nano-influencers with quality content and brands. I took primary responsibility for managing the application's development process and investor relations. Unfortunately, the project failed due to its lack of feasibility and our limited experience and vision. Despite the failure, this experience was incredibly valuable for me in terms of hands-on operation and working day-by-day with investment funds, including planning, execution, personnel management, funding, and risk assessment.
2021 - Present _ Bray Leino Splash / Mission Made _ Project Manager
After the failure of my first startup, I took a step back and started anew as a Project Manager. At Bray Leino Splash, I supported the completion of clients' website projects within a designated budget and timeframe, utilizing various technologies. During my work, I learned how to manage projects using Waterfall, Agile, or a combination of both to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery, as well as develop a "solution analyzing" mindset. Additionally, I began assisting the company in transitioning from Waterfall management to Agile methodology. During peak times, I managed a team of around 12 members across three different projects.
My Education
2012 - 2016: Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing)
Van Lang University
I pursued my studies at the university and successfully graduated with a degree in Commerce, with a minor in Marketing. During my time there, I gained valuable insights into marketing strategies and the importance of building a sustainable brand. The university instilled in me the mindset of determination and the value of integrity in business endeavors.
University Name: ESL & Bachelor of Science (Computer Science)
Idaho State University (USA)
Perhaps this was one of the riskiest decisions I made when I chose to study abroad with only $150 in my pocket, in one of the most expensive countries for education in the world. However, I was fortunate to receive financial support from Idaho State University during my pursuit of education in the USA. What I learned there was not just knowledge, but also a different mindset—a willingness to embrace the Western perspective, problem-solving approaches, and the independence that I didn't have the opportunity to experience in Vietnam.
